Synopsis

This textbook covers all aspects of materials science relevant to the practice of dentistry and is aimed primarily at undergraduate dental students, although parts should be useful for practising dentists, dental technicians and dental surgery assistants. This edition has been extensively revised to include the many advances in dental materials and includes new chapters on glass-ionomers and resin-modified glass-ionomers. The sections on dental adhesives and ceramics, in particular, have been expanded significantly. In addition, the scope has been widened to cover the clinical handling of materials.
